The proposed landscape “Westsylvania” is located in one of the 4 courtyards inside the walls of CB West High School. Its name is a direct representation of the idea behind this project. It is intended to be a native successional meadow. In short, what that means is the plant life will be reminiscent of what would have grown here, had it never been disturbed. Its purpose will be to provide sanctuary not only for wild life, but for students and faculty as well. It will be a space where classmates may get a breath of fresh air, eat lunch or read a book. Teachers may hold outdoor classes on the central green or even use the space itself to teach the importance of ecological systems. Rooms surrounding the courtyard look in and observe this designed natural habitat. It will be a space for observation, contemplation and of course education.
We are collaborating with CB West to make this project happen, but we need your help! You may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call @ 267.279.9633 for more information, but you can also contact CB West.
